48" x 8" x 2" Class 4 Full Taper & Polish Forklift Forks (Pair)
An 8" wide, 2" thick full taper blade in a four-foot length — the Class 4 fork for sheet steel, plate, and heavy plywood units that get picked up flat off the floor. The width spreads 16,800 lb across enough surface to keep a stack from bowing, and the polished, heel-to-tip taper gets under the bottom sheet without a pry bar.
Forty-eight inches suits 4x8 sheet units picked from the long side and standard pallets of plate or bagged product. It's the length to choose when your Class 4 truck works in racking or trailers where a 60" or 72" blade won't clear. For full lumber units and 8-foot-plus packs, the same section comes in 60" and 72".
At 2" thick this is the heavier of the two wide Class 4 FTP sections (the 10" x 1.75" rates 18,200 lb, the 12" x 1.5" rates 16,200 lb). Pick the 8" x 2" when the load is dense and narrow — steel rather than wood. Capacity is at a 24" load center; use the forklift fork capacity chart for longer load centers.
